Blog 24: Last Presentation Reflection

(1) Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your block presentation and/or your senior project? Why?

I am proud that I was able to get through my presentation and I do not think I was as worse as I thought I would be. I think my presentation came out better than I expected it to.

(2) Questions to Consider

a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your block presentation?  Use the component contract to defend that assessment.

I think I would give myself a P on my presentation because I did provide answers to my essential question and gave content relating to my essential question, came dressed professionally, and completed my activity.

b.     What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project? Use the component contract to defend that assessment.

I would give myself an AP because I feel I did most of the work needed but I did turn some things in late.

(3) What worked for you in your senior project?

I think I found a good mentor who was very informative on my topic and helped me a lot during the process.

(4) (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your senior project?

I would not procrastinate on finishing blogs or updating my senior project notebook notes because I would have a lot of work when it piled up.

(5) Finding Value
How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors?   Be specific and use examples.

I think presenting in front of a class of students helped me with my presenting skills, the more I presented the better I presented my topic and this project helped me experience something new that I probably wouldn't have done otherwise.

(1) What is your essential question, and what are your answers?  What is your best answer and why?
EQ: How can an optometrist best use technology to improve eye care?
1st Answer: An optometrist should use technology to view the interior structure of the eyes.
2nd Answer: An optometrist should use technology that is helpful to identify and correct refractive errors?
3rd Answer: An optometrist should use technology that is useful and reliable?
Best Answer: 1st Answer, because it is important to keep your eyes healthy and without the health of your eyes it is possible to develop an eye disease or encounter an issue where it will become impossible to see again.

(2) What process did you take to arrive at this answer?
I talked to my mentor and observed around the clinic, I observed how technology was used around the clinic and my mentor would explain the importance of a healthy eye, to arrive at this answer.

(3) What problems did you face?  How did you resolve them?
At first I had problems with my essential question and figuring out what part of my subject and research I would be focusing on, however this problem was solved with the experiences and observations I had at mentorship.

(4) What are the two most significant sources you used to answer your essential question and why?
The two most significant sources I used to answer was my essential question was a book and an interview I had with my mentor. Both these sources helped me with my questions and answers.
