Blog 1 – Senior Final Lesson/Interview Reflection

Optical Illusion:
They appear to be moving one after another, but both are moving at the same speed.

1.  What three lessons were most helpful for you to see, and why?

The three lessons I found most helpful to me were Astrophysics, Negligence Law, and Veterinary Medicine. These lessons were helpful to me because they were great examples of presenting the senior project considering they presented very well along with showing their knowledge of their subject strongly.

2. List one thing that you learned about the senior project in interviews that will help you get off to a good start?

One thing I learned about senior project during the interviews that will help me get off on a good start is how to approach and request mentoring from a stranger that specializes in a certain field.

3. What topic(s) are you considering, and why?
I am considering Neuroscience as a topic for my senior project because I find it interesting how the brain works and the study of the brain. I am also considering Optometry due to my interest in how we perceive things and how are eyes are able to deceive us, such as in optical illusions.
4. What EQ do you think might be interesting to consider in guiding a project like this? (Please don't worry about any sort of formula...we want this question to come from your genuine interest).
What is the best way to view certain aspects of optical illusions and avoid the deception of your eyes?

5. What are some ideas you have about finding summer mentorship?
Some ideas I have for finding a mentorship this summer is to look for Neurologists and Optometrists near my location, then I would ask the specialists if they would be willing to mentor me for my senior project.
